Skincare. After hearing how important it is to take care of my skin, especially when wearing make up so often, as of a few months I have a skincare routine that I do every day and works for me.
p.s. I have combination to oily skin.
Step 1: I always remove my makeup before bed. Currently I’m using Bioderma Sébium H2O Purifying Cleansing Micelle Solution that is for oily/combination skin. It removes every bit of heavy makeup easily!
Step 2: Cleanse. Renaissance Cleansing Gel by Oskia is my go-to. It is quite expensive for a cleaner but my skin feels so much smoother and brighter after applying it.
Step 3: Tone. Clinique’s clarifying lotion – this is the first and only toner I have ever used. My skin feels incredible — clean, but not dried out. I also feel it helped with clearing my skin.
Step 4: Moisturize. For night time I use Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light cream. Even though I have mostly oily skin I still want to hydrate it as much as possible. Applying the cream, it smells amazing, has a calming effect and leaves the skin soft.
Step 5: Pamper. Every other day I use Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil. Very expensive but makes my skin smoother, pores are noticeably smaller and skin texture is improved.
Because I’m always in a rush in the morning I tend to use the minimum amount of products.
Step 1: Cleanse. As I start I like to go all over my face with a cotton pad and Bioderma’s cleansing water. It removes the excess oil.
Step 2: Tone. Again with Clinique’s toner – face feels very clean and fresh.
Step 3: Moisturize. In the mornings I use Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. As I said in my December Favorites post, it is very light on the face and not sticky. It leaves my face feeling matte and hydrated. Highly recommend to anyone with oily skin!
I use Origins Active Charcoal Mask at least twice a week. It’s a great deep cleansing mask. I find that it leaves my skin looking very clear and fresh, and has noticeably decreased the size of my pores. Parsley Seed Facial Cleansing Masque by Aesop I use when I feel like my face is starting to break out. The mask does what it claims – purifies and calms down all the irritations. And if I break out I tend to go for Origins Super Spot Remover. The tiniest amount of product is all you need. I apply the gel before bed, and by the time I wake up, the spot is dry and significantly smaller.
